I'll admit to being rather skeptical upon learning of the idea of a professional coach. How could someone from quite afar, not familiar with my personality, not aware of the professional setting I found myself in assist me in my overall growth? After approximately nine months of partnering, however, I now fully embrace the concept. In examining some of my personal and professional victories this year I find the origin of their success in initiatives undertaken between my coach and myself. The key to it all, for me and I suspect for others, is that these successes come from within. A coach helps pull it out of you. The distance, both physically and professionally, helps provide the objectivity so critical in productive assessment. When the successes come from within it is more sustainable, more permanent. These aren't quick fixes; they are more gradual but also more lasting. I enthusiastically endorse the role of a coach and am thankful, Hardy, for the guidance that you have provided me. ... DP
