Executive
/ Personal coaching is becoming all the buzz in these fast-paced
and constantly-changing times. All major business magazines
have given substantial coverage to Coaching in recent years.
I mention only a few of them here:
Fortune
Magazine ran a feature article in its February 21, 2000
issue called "EXECUTIVE COACHES So youre
a player. Do you need a coach?"
Its summary:
"The hottest thing in management is the executive coach
part boss, part consultant, part therapist. Who are these
people? And what are they doing in your company?"

Linkage
Inc., a major research consulting organization, wrote
another well-researched article recently, called : "Coaching:
Whats behind the "buzz"?
This article
confirms that major companies, including Levi-Strauss, AT&T,
Sprint, Xerox, IBM and Media One all have implemented coaching
within their organizations, and have achieved significant results.
"In
this era of Internet speed, mergers and acquisitions, rapidly
changing market demands and intense competition for top talent,
organizations and employees are seeking people who can challenge
them to stretch to new levels of effectiveness. Coaches are
filling that need. In the simplest, day-in, day-out terms, masterful
coaching involves expanding peoples capacity to take effective
action. Coaching has been credited with increasing employee
enthusiasm and focus, helping employees improve business relationships
with colleagues and customers, and enabling them to reach new
performance levels (in leadership, sales, revenue, productivity,
efficiency, etc.)."
